Brea Networks has been named Most Promising Managed Communication Service Company of 2022 by CIO Review, a technology magazine focused on enterprise solutions.
The publication highlights the role of Brea Networks as a Registered Provider Organization (CMMC RPO) for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as well as its capabilities as an IT Services Company and a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
The Cybersecurity Maturity Model (CMMC)
The CMMC is an assessment program designed and implemented by the US Department of Defense (DoD) to enhance cyber protection across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) ecosystem.
The CMMC sets the standards that the group of over 300,000 companies that make up the DIB must meet in order to stave off the wave of increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks that target information shared by the DoD with its contractors and subcontractors.
Due to the stringent nature of the CMMC, self-assessment is out of the question. Instead, companies must obtain their certification from a certified CMMC Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO). Brea Networks has applied to become a C3PAO and the application is currently pending.
All DIB companies are required to comply with the CMMC by 2025.
Brea Networks and the CMMC
“As we’re CMMC level 2 ready organization, we naturally become the partner of choice for DoD contractors who need to comply with CMMC regulations,” says Humberto Correa, founder and president of Brea Networks.
The magazine cites a few facts that bring into sharper focus the relevant role Brea Networks is called upon to play within the process of CMMC implementation:
Brea Networks offers comprehensive CMMC compliance services that include everything from password management, mobile device management, data encryption, and cloud backups, to management of legal paperwork and documentation.
“We also provide CMMC Level-2 ready packages that included a System Security Plan, SOP’s to manage information security risk, Done-For-You IT Use Policies, Incident Response Plan, Data Destruction Policy, Done-ForYou CUI media access log, and physical premise security control audit,” says Correa.
On a Mission to Help DoD Contractors
Brea Networks currently serves eight major contractors in the aerospace, chemical, nuclear, and manufacturing industries. The California-based company has built a reputation as a dependable IT partner with a knack for exceeding customer expectations.
The magazine relates the example of a client that was preparing to be audited by one of their Army customers. Most cybersecurity companies would need six to 12 months to bring an organization into compliance — far too late for the needs of this specific client. In the end, and thanks to the help of Brea Networks, the company was able to implement NIST 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 standards in just 60 days.
Brea Networks is planning to extend its footprint to the 20 cities with the most CMMC contractors. The company recently opened a call center in Toronto to offer 24/7 support to its clients, including a Security Operations Center.
“We are now on a mission to help DoD contractors augment their security parameters, complying with CMMC regulations by 2025 and thereby gaining business continuity with government entities,” concludes Correa.
